Oh, no, this is very upsetting!

Well. Well. Dane is a fly in their ointment for sure! I will say that surprises rarely work out how we imagine. I think all three of them got a surprise that did not match expectations.

The human mind draws conclusions based upon appearance, proximity and happenstance. Unfortunately, Will's habit of keeping his door unlocked has led Nadine to make an assumption. Stay tuned...

Oh my gosh!

Your writing takes full advantage of the weekly disclosure of each chapter. All week, this is what we remember and anticipate what will happen next.

We are waiting with anticipation!

I don’t know who to feel more sorry for…Will or Nadine. Nadine always jumps to the wrong worst conclusion. Will seems to always get caught in strange unexplainable circumstances. I think it is time to finally get these two together. I can’t imagine what else could cause a problem for them unless it is a complete unknown. Come on Douglas! Let’s wrap it up….PLEASE😇

@Kathy Stout “Strange unexplainable circumstances.” Kathy - that is a perfect way to describe the trigger in the last chapter, and a line I can make good use of whether in a subsequent chapter, or down the road somewhere else!

You are such a goofball! I’d love to have coffee and a chat with you in person. I’ll bet you would be a hoot! Keep it coming, Douglas!

Thanks for the encouragement to continue my series to wherever it goes. My family and friends would not describe me as silly, but might agree that I am a bit on the eccentric side in that I notice subtle details in the world and often leverage them to embark on literary and other explorations

Somebody stop that woman from overreacting to every single breath!

Well worth reading.

You certainly know how to make a reader react with an actual sharp intake of breath Douglas!! I had forgotten all about that Dane floozy. This isn’t what Nadine thinks it is I bet. Poor Douglas has been had again, or not as might be the case, 😉 by that damned woman. I wonder what her motive is 🤔🤔.

Well... no surprises in this installment... Of course this is how it would happen!

Oh no!

No way to mansplain away this one!

Dane should be charged with indecent assault, trespassing, and more. And a restraining order please. WTAF. 😱

Douglas Halpert's avatar

@Kristi Bodin Dane might have committed trespassing, though her defense would be that Will left the door ajar. But at least from what transpired, the reader does not see her touch Will so there is no basis for an assault charge. Will would need to go to court to gain a restraining order. Stay tuned to see what actually unfolds as a result of this incident, and thanks for reading and commenting! I enjoyed reading your passionate response to the situation that she precipitated.

Thanks. I forget that you and I share the burden of having a JD. :)

Seeing is believing, but it's not always the truth. That Dane sure does have the audacity. Poor Will. What will happen next? Oh, I'm on the edge of my seat, worrying about these fictional characters.
